Henry David Galliston is the editor in chief of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic. Hank Galliston has spent his career following clues, debunking myths and solving conspiracies. A confessed paranormal junkie, his motto is logic is the compass.
When Laila, his beautiful wife, is abducted from her antique clock shop, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent named Rebecca Riley seems more interested in catching Laila's abductor, whom she identifies as White Vincent. Hank is told by Laila's abductor that the price of her release is a clock she had purchased that day at a flea market.
